LSR runs 15 sessions per week and each playgroup is allocated a 2 hour time slot. You have total freedom regarding the way you run your session. You may be as informal or as structured as you please. Some playgroups, especially those with babies, enjoy the facilities as a chance to catch up over coffee with other parents/carers where they are able to share their experiences.
Toddlers playgroups usually enjoy the opportunity to play with friends, engage in the messy craft playgroup activities that are prepared by our Art/Craft Coordinator fortnightly or to utilise the abundance of art and craft provisions.
Tea and coffee, etc. are provided. All you will need to bring is milk. Most groups find it handy to have a roster for things like bringing the morning tea and opening/closing up LSR.
LSR is run by a group of volunteer parents. The Committee is fully responsible for the day-to-day running of LSR including financial management, maintenance and enrolments. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join the committee. The committee is formed at the start of each year during the Annual General Meeting. Details of the AGM and each committee meeting will appear on the whiteboard.
Details in relation to the Committee are displayed on the notice board in the kitchen. If you need to contact the Committee, please leave a note in the relevant pockets hanging up in the kitchen area, email us at: littleschoolroom@yahoo.com.au or leave a message on 9513 9274.
Each playgroup is represented by a group representative. This person is encouraged to attend committee meetings and is an important communication link between their group and the Committee. Please note that all playgroup members are welcome to attend Committee meetings. An agenda is issued a week or so prior to each meeting, and is posted on the noticeboard.
